To climb Mt. Fuji from the Shizuoka side, you must register an account and complete the mountain entry procedures. These apply only to ascents starting from designated Shizuoka Prefecture trailheads.
1.Learn the rules: Complete e-learning or onsite training before climbing.
2.Overnight stay: Climbers entering between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. must stay overnight at a mountain hut.
3.Entry fee: A 4,000 yen entry fee is required to help maintain safe and pleasant climbing conditions.
The entry procedure is to obtain an entry permit through the “Shizuoka Prefecture Fuji Climbing Pre-registration”
Obtain an entry permit through the “Shizuoka Prefecture Fuji Climbing Pre-registration System.” Using the system to obtain an entry permit lets you readily start climbing.
1.Pre-registration: Complete registration through the system to receive an entry permit and access useful features like GPS and weather updates.
2.App Installation: Download the “Shizuoka Prefecture FUJI NAVI” app on your smartphone (free).
3.Climbing Info: Register your climb details (date, name, overnight stay info).
4.Entry Fee: Pay a 4,000 yen fee (via credit card or e-money).
5.Study Requirements: Complete e-learning and pass the quiz on Mt. Fuji rules.
6.Entry Permit: Receive a QR code entry permit.
7.On-site Check: Show the QR code entry permit to on-site staff.
8.Use the App: Keep the app on during your climb for safety, navigation, and weather updates.
Note: Registration is not a mountain hut reservation. If climbing after 2 p.m., book a hut separately.
